Now you're talkin'! You really don't need individually adjustables. A single slider with one screw would save weight. Be sure to make the screw long enough that you can put a goober on the threads with a pair of diagonal wire cutters. That way, the screw can't fall out, which can be fatal. Uh-oh, Robert done put more smiley face icons for me to use.

I made it with two individual guides as it was much easier and also because I figured that the weight of the additional bolt would not be much different than the aluminum to connect them together. Here is a picture of the socket head cap screw that I used. You will notice that it is very small. It is a 1-72x 1/4 inch. However it has a tensile strength of 260 pounds. It is long enough to upset the threads on the back side. The plate that the screw goes into is steel and it has about 1/2 again as many threads as 1/72 nut. I snugged them up and could not pull them apart. There is a brass bushing that surrounds the screw where it goes through the slot in the slide. This makes it very easy to adjust. It is extremely small. .120 OD
.080 ID and .035 Thick.
