James,
The attached picture is of an adjustable Elevator Horn. Once closed inside the ship it is not adjustable. A removable window allows you to loosen the screw and adjust the position of the control rod on the horn to a position that will achieve maximum performance. Sorry for the poor photo. The window is a small removable piece of plywood that is held in place with one screw and is positioned so that there is easy access to the screw on the control horn. The window is to be removed at the field during the trimmimg process and replaced until the best position/performance is reached. The closer the rod is to the pivot the more elevator travel and the farther away from the pivot the less the elevator travel.  y1   :!

You also adjust the neutral between flap and elevator by lengthening or shortening the elevator pushrod.I install a lefthand thread on one end so you can just rotate the rod .

There are many methods to do this. One is the moving window. I've seen this idea a lot. Others include a removable piece that's held on by numerous mechanisms; screws, blind nuts, etc.

Here's mine. I like it a lot.

Randy,

Way cool.  Know you've got a nifty camera so how about an enlarged close up with some measurements and how to steps.  And I thought my access doors were good.   j1

Marv,

I'll take some pictures when I do this next one. I'm allready deep into the next project. When I get to this part (comes pretty early in the process when building a fuselage), I shoot some pics and post them with a description. It's not really very hard. Should be doing this tomorrow, actually. Or the next day.

Marv,

Well, it's done. I took about 15 pictures. Came out so well, I think I'll send it to Stunt News.
