Looks like some of mine. The nuts will be hard to reach, but other than that it looks fine.As long as it moves freely and does the job, it's got enough clearance.
Won't hurt a thing. Like the man said, as long it clears it will work. Worse yet is when it rubs and makes things sticky, no good.
You're worried about the rod and link hitting the flap at full throw, right? It should be fine, but if you think it needs more clearance, it won't have to be enough to ugly it up. What plane is this?
I have notched flaps like that for years. In fact I have even cut the flaps to look even and put a peice of scrap between the flap and fuselage on both sides.
My Twister outboard flap is notched just like that. I doubt if that notch affects anything that flyers at our level can detect.
