A Fancherized Tornado?

I have two from-plans Fancherized Twisters well under way.  Since I have good templates (especially ribs), a wing building jig already set up, and plans for Allen Brickhaus' Tornado, the thought occurred to me that I should take advantage of them and build a Fancherized version of of the Tornado.  I would keep the fuselage shape but extend it to the length of the F-Twister's.

Has anyone tried this?  Is there any reason it should not fly at least as well as an F-Twister.  Any suggestions?

Perhaps I will name it the "F-5".

It sounds like a great a idea to me.  I think Allen would be very interested in your project also.  Please give him a call.

Go for it Peter, don't know of any reason why it wouldn't fly just fine. I've got the Tornado article somewhere, if you want it let me know I'll look it up.

Thank you, Lee, but I have the November, 1991, issue of Flying Models that has the article in it.  I have the plan - - #CF-869 - - spread out on our dining room table (wife is thrilled) determining what, how, and where to modify Allen's design.  The first couple of glances tell me that there are not many changes needed.  I should be an easy and fun build.

Here is the only remaining photo of the Tornado (with my eight year old son) from the article.  The rest were sent to the publisher.  Black and white technology was required back then.  Picture was probably taken in late 1989.  The plane was built according to plans, and it flew very well.   If I would build another, I would use Nobler or Oriental fuselage moments.
