What plans are you using? Or did you scratch build those, too?
Have you built from a kit before? Building from plans is just like building from a kit, except that instead of cursing the wood that comes with the kit you have to cut out all those @#$% ribs -- but there's ways and ways.
What are your goals? Just something flyable? Something as good as the last kit you built? Something better? Better how?
One tip that I'll give you right now, because I'm still learning it's power, is that if you want to build light then you should weigh every piece of wood you use, and you should think about how heavily stressed that piece of wood is going to be in the final assembly. Do that, and you'll automatically start sorting out the heaviest (strongest) wood for spars, the medium stuff for ribs, the light stuff for sheeting, etc. Your plane will end up lighter, as if by magic.
Don't get disappointed when you screw up -- we all do. And keep us posted -- there's a lot of builders on this forum!
