Non flying stunt grunt
« on: March 01, 2007, 08:34:25 AM »
I would like to mention my father 's stepfather(Stan Jones) as my "stunt grunt".he took my father to many of his first contests in the Indianapolis area, although he didn't fly himself. My father has told me numerous times how unselfishand giving this man was,to care enough to make my father and his brother feel at home.My grandfather recently passed away, but knowing how he treated my father years ago definitely makes him our hero.

Hi Steve,

I posted almost the same thing!  My Grandfather raised me and I wouldn't be in Stunt, I'm sure, if not for him................  thanks for sharing!

Our family was very fortunate that Stan married my grandmother. My father and uncle were moved around alot before that. Stable home sure helps when your'e younger.Stan wasn't very mechanically inclined but he never forced his hobbies or pastimes on his stepsons(although my uncle did develop that nasty habit of GOLF!).
