Jerry Olsen was a good friend of mine that just passed away of a swimming accident. we have been fly togather for a number of years and was part of the Fireballs retired group of flyers that get together three times a week for a flying session. Over the years he became quite a good flyer and he loved to fly. He learned everything the hard way but he learned it well. He was always proud of his flying accomplishments and (Iwon't call it bragging) we talked about it a lot. I will always remember him as a family man and that was his first priority.
Gerry had just finished building his first full bodied airplane and test flew it just before he wnt on vacation. We were supposed to go flying on Friday but he called and said his washuing machine wasn't working and he was going to try it again and he would call me bac. In a few minutes he did and said it wa still not working. That wa the last time we spoke toeach other. I will miss Jerry a lot and I hope he gets to see all his friends when he meets his father. I will miss him as a friend and wish he was still here.
