Our old buddy from Savannah GA, Bob Harpe sent these to me awhile back.
The Tropicaire pic would have been in late 1972.
The Stiletto photo would be from the Spring of 1973.
 The picture of Bob Harpe and Tom Dixon was probably taken around 1971.
I had sent these photos to Don two weeks ago and when he didn't post them I became a bit concerned.

I sure do enjoy seeng these 70's pictures. Especially the pants.
Also the planes and the tone of the photos just appeals to me. That Tropicaire just is fantastic. So pure.
I have been inspired by the trousers of the 70s flyers and am on a quest to dress for the event.

Sorry , I'm getting on this thread late . During the early 70's , I flew control-line in Trinidad as a junior member of the club,  "The Modelers Association of Trinidad and Tobago" (MATT). There was an annual contest there sponsored by BWIA and I thought I saw you fly the Tropicaire there but I could be mistaken. There were a number of flyers from the states that came down for this event. It was a long time ago and I was probably about 12 at the time !

   You will remember this guy and my self taken in late 1970's at Jacksonville Fl.  Joe Mead was the contest director for many years at Jacksonville.
 In this picture I had not entered a contest in many years. The last one was in NYS around late 1960's and that was FF. I showed up at Jacksonville late and first round was done. They looked at my very old AAsr and thought let him fly as no one new me. They gave me one flight and as you can see I won.  Soon after this Bill Rich moved to Florida and he and I became great friends going to contest all over the south together.
 Fun days from a long time ago.
