In the back Stunt Grunt
« on: March 05, 2007, 08:33:05 AM »
Nobody ever mentions this person, they remain annonomous through our adult modeling career. They are always there with that extra hand when we need three. When we get frustrated because something dosen't fit there is always a remark like "Why don't you move that little thingy over there then you would have room for those paws of yours". These little things take the bite out of a bad situation. No matter what they are always there if just to say "Aren't you ever going to bring that toy airplane home in one piece."
They ain't never gonna go away so we might as well accept it. If you haven't guessed the "Stunt Grunt" I am talking about is my wife, Sophie, she is always there no matter what. How about the rest of you ,any stories?

What would any of us do without the wife to give us support when needed or bring us back to earth also.  Coming up on 39 years of the wife putting up with my shanangons.  Also if she goes with you to contests and flying all the better.   DOC Holliday

I bribe mine. In 30 years, I've learned what buttons to push. She just spent the tax return on a new saddle. That should make her happy for months.

OOh,wives. the other nemises for man. Without them we are turnips. They do a whole bunch of stuff that we could do but we let them do it because they do it better. RIGHT. Sometimes we could treat them a lot better than we do but we already know that we got them hooked. The only thing they won't do is clean our shop for us and we don't want them near our diggings. Anyway they keep us in line and ad class to our sorry modeling lives. Bless thier hearts!

Wow!
Really pretty roses n' red...violets are burple stories about our beloved better halves'
Carol has always been there for me...through my "Thick hair days"...and now through my "thin hair days" here in the winter seasons  of my life.

Long ago.....I hear the distant echos from the past,(1970) gone by since we exchanged vows, in which I made a very simple request before that trip down the alter:"LOVE ME....LOVE MY AIRPLANES, n' my little things!"

Wow! Here is a photo taken in 69 just before we were married. "Wow! What a tribute to my beloved Saint Carol. Gads' my tired ol' eyeballs are beginnin' to teeear up a tad! Talk about blessed!
Were we ever that young and nieve?

Wow Shultzie, She is a lot better looking than you or your plane. I am glad you got married. You needed to settle down, I figured in about five years before you got married you were going to get a heart attact or fall off a mountian someplace.

The saddle fits the horse well. Should for what she paid for it. Yikes, I could buy 4 Randy Smith custom engines for what she paid. Sigh... But it keeps her happy. As long at Donny is put of pics of the "da women".....

JUST RAZZIN' (Actually that is a very nice red...that color scheme rules, and the trim is unique and really fits the wing platform! Gads, I love that wing.

Alright, Leo, cut the green cracks. I'm getting used to it. Sorta.

Then new elliptical plane is on the board and is a substantial departure from previous planes in the series. Should be interesting.

Don,

Yea, it's mostly drawn. Based loosely (very loosely) on a 1930s racer. Same wing as the last elliptical design, Tango Red. If I ever finish this classic plane (had to repaint one of the flaps), I'll clear the decks and get started on it.

After talking to Randy the other day I kinda think the only green to be seen around him is the color on his face whenever someone talks about green airplanes! and that will be the look of green around the gills,, but as we allknow, what Randy considers servicable,, well, wed all be happy with right?
I know I for one am  Green with envy over the quality of work he does,,

ok ok, sorry Randy, I couldnt resist,,,, S?P

Mrak,

It's one of those planes that will look great from about 10 feet. The pearl in the clearcoat was a great idea all the way up to where it got runs all over it. My fault entirely. A lot of sanding and it's not too bad as long as you don't get too close.

Worst thing is, as soon as it's done, my PA plane has to go on the rack and get the same treatment. I never rubbed it out and it needs it. But at least it's not green.

Green used to be a good color until you guys started exploiting it. Now it needs a lot more silver in it. I think you guys should probably do more practicing and not so much green painting. Just my stupid poin of view.

I was going to put a picture of my wife on here but she just happened to say something about a murder to happen. I think she has been watching too much CSI. However that is not the first time it has been mentioned arount my house. Thank goodness I can still run faster than her.

I decide against the elliptical plane for now. My wife likes the other one so I started building that. I can't seem to get off the Jet style kick I've been on.

RANDY! "OOOOOOOOOoooooooh RANDY, YOU'RE BREAKIN' MAAAAA HEART!!" (humm? that was words to n old song, or sumpin' like that)
Regardless...
Those Elliptical wings are truly evaaaa so beautiful to look at...plus folks like Dave Gierke and our Leo Mehl...and my ol' flyin buds now crossed over...the late Tim Dunlop and Gene Mathey all seem to have nuttin' but raves about how Elliptical platform wings seem to cut so cleanly through bumpy-bad-windy conditions?
HOWEVER....I celebrate your decision to follow your beloved's input on the creative process.

I always look forward to see what the next beautiful model design that springs forth from the "MIND OF OUR RANDY-RANDOLA!"  H^^
