Appearance judging, Nats 2005

Looking for a particular photo, I ran across this....from the rear looking forward at the "180" building in Muncie. This is just part of the Nats experience, breathtaking to me....

<sniff, sniff> That's probably the last *intact* photo of Infinity #2 - I crashed it the next morning. I recall being amazed at how "off" the "off white" had gotten.

Just imagine. Without appearance points, this wonderful scene could never happen.

what happened?

Flying in the remnants of a hurricane, everything was going fine. I got a bit loose in the vertical 8, no problem, took a half-step back - into a hole. Fell down, and crashed.

360 days later, I got over it.

Sorry to kidnapp your story...Brett! Odd-Ode to the memory of things gone soooo wrong.

No problem. Mine was pretty much over anyway. And yours was much more interesting.

HEY GRUNTS?
ANYONE HAVE A PHOTO OF THAT STUNT MODEL OF BRETT'S BEFORE "THE FALL?"

Our host has several from  immediately after! For the "before" look at a picture of the current one, it's pretty much the same.

Funny,

But bad luck stories can and do turn to good luck stories.  Bad luck, Infinity #2 gets destroyed by a hole!
Infinity #3 360 days later wins the Walker Cup!  Brett, I would hang up #3 and never fly it again after that much good luck!
