Hi Randy,
Was assisting a fellow club member's Widow so she can downsize and move. Her husband had some motors in the original boxes that had (unbeknownst to anyone) absorbed some moisture and the cases have acquired a chalky exterior. Is there any safe way to restore these so they can be sold to financially assist her in moving on to a new location.

Hi Wes;
Just saw this, and was going to suggest a stiff bristle brush of some kind and some light oil combined with some elbow grease. I have seen this before and as long as the internals are OK, it won't bother the external surfaces much. The heavy brush will knock off the white stuff and the cast aluminum will absorb some of the oil. When you have done the whole engine, wipe it off with a clean rag and see how it looks. This should leave behind a light coating of oil also. Then wrap in a fresh baggy for further storage.

Hi Wes what Dan said, BUT I would be leary about the insides, most engines that have this much corrosion also has damage inside, so
look there too , after they are cleaned and oiled, put them in zip lock baggies
