Dan,
I have used it, the transparent violet (1/2A Pathfinder, Ringmaster 207) and transparent blue (Barecat), on 1/2A models. I like it! Adequate strength for the small planes, works corners well.
Have some coverite, havenot used it so I cant compare. Pics of the Barecat and Pathfinder in the SH Photo Gallery, District 5.
Ringmaster 207 and Pathfinder shown on the ringmaster site, Albums section, posted under CLiner.

the stuff is great for 1/2As, very light, doesn't have enough shrink authority to warp a wing.  BUT it must be handled carefully while applying--it will tear fairly easily.  Use caution when removing the backing.

Does it add much strength to a wing ?  Like silkspan maybe ?   ::)

No, not a lot.  In fact it will tend to re-stretch at first and will need to be re-shrunk a time or two.  The wing needs to have structural support built in to it (spars, etc.).
