Toronado prop
« on: June 03, 2007, 04:58:52 PM »
Anyone have a use for nice white Tornado three blade 6-3 tractor?  It has been mounted and run, but it never flew.  I was trying to get some thrust out of an OK .074.  Yep, it was a lost cause.  I'll mail it to the first person who wants it.

Hi Russell,
My opinion of the old OK's is about the same as yours. However, you should contact Larry Renger, aka DesignMan, regarding those things. I watched him rework an OK at a club meeting once, and he said it would then perform (to the best of my memory) about as well as a BabyBee! It wasn't terribly involved, either.

Russell,

Give us more particulars on the Cub .074. It's a low compression engine and you need ~25% nitro, etc.

It's low compression, all right.  It never did have the power of a standard Babe Bee.  It's been run quite a lot and the bushing is very loose, so maybe high nitro wouldn't be too good for it.
