Sky Raider
« on: July 29, 2008, 08:59:38 PM »
*** I don't build a lot of 1/2A size planes, but I thought I'd share this one as it's a little
different.  The plane is a Sky Raider kitted by Jasco sometime in the past.  The span is
just over 17".   I wondered if anyone has some experience with one of these.  Now a little
trimming and figure out how to paint it.

Very cool! And totally new to me.  I could see scaling that theme up and adding a built up wing for a really unusual model!  Minnesotamodeler where are you when we need you?
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Sorry, I got my own irons in the fire...can't take on any others.

Interesting, though..."The twin that wasn't".

Way cool my  friend! Jasco had some unusual planes and I saw only ads for them and never saw this one. I didn't even know they had half A C/L planes.

Any possibility for a scan of the plans for it?

Most likely balance will be close to the leading edge. probably no more than a quarter of an inch back from the LE.

Did they have more half A C/L planes?

***** The plans show pictures of two or three other Jasco planes but not much information is there on
them.   The plans were not full sized -- however -- I did make patterns for all the parts.   I'll see what I
can do about getting a few copies of the sets made in case anyone is interested.

Count me in as one who is!

Patterns are the best way to go. Glad you thought of that! More and more people are doing this with printwood and diecut sheets when the parts are not shown full size on paper.
