I just wish they had included a picture of the mod to the R/C carb for a better idle.

I picked up a CS at Toledo.  Just so cute. :)

CS stands for "China Shanghai". I toured the Shanghai Model Engine Research Department as a guest in 1994.
(It's located in the area of the City of Shanghai & district, of course)

Home Tuned/modified versions of CS .049's often win/place at the U.S Nats in 1/2A Profile Proto & 1/2A speed.
A good comparison of .049's can be found on the web site of Martin Gregorie.

CS is not in production anymore  GZ still avaliable throug bill hughes. hi paul glad to see you posting here. could you possiably share some of your expertize with the cox reed valve motors?    our club is fixen to have a plank plane reed valve combat contest and we could sure use any help you can send our way.    joey

The CS .061 engine that is in the Fly R/C review (by Andrew Coholic a fellow Canadian) is a sport engine, not the CS or CZ speed engine to which Paul is referring.

I have two of these CS .061's and am quite pleased with them. They are not Norvel or TD killers but are a good all round sport engine. Much like the Brodak .049 (also a CS engine) good improvements come if you can make a turbo plug button and use turbo plugs as Larry Reneger (sp?) has noted many times.
