Mini Ringmaster Bipe Survey

Mini Ringmaster Bipe
This is an airplane for your Cox TD 020. It has a 17 ¼” top wing and 96 ½ square inches of wing area. There is no planking in the center of the top side of the top wing or the bottom side of the bottom wing. The first kits will sell for $43.00 with shipping and insurance included. Two wings, open cockpit, no round engine, but you can’t have everything.

One of the major factors is the fact that the Tee Dee .020 cost so much it has now become a museum piece. The engine has clearly become unobtainable from a monetary factor and parts support. It certainly is beneficial that Bernie has plugs now for .020 engines, but some of the major components needed for the Tee Dee aren't and probably won't be made available. I suppose for those that own this engine it makes a great choice. Ken

That Tee Dee .020 is a screamer!

For a substitute, the PAW 55 should be a great choice for this model, as would an Atwood Shriek, or probably a Medallion .049.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

I totally agree Larry, I truly believe it may have been Cox's best engine they made. More parts have recently become available, but these engines for those who don't own them are ridiculously expensive. Ken

This airplane was designed to give owners of Cox TD 020 engines something to designed for the engine to fly. I am working on a Mini Ringmaster design with 77 square inches for PeeWee 020 engines. I am trying to have offerings for owners od these engines to fly. I agree that the engines are now expensive, but I believe that there are a lot of the Cox 020 engines sitting in drawers.

Actually, the Tee Dee .020 is much sought after for certain FF events where it is the only game in town.  This accounts for the high prices and scarcity.

The Cox RTF engine has about the same power and fuel consumption, though a bit more weight, and represents a great alternative.   Your Bipe is a nice design, and I would not want it to fail because of engine unavalibilium.
