Kwikee Stunt at Sepulveda tomorrow (among other things)
« on: April 16, 2010, 09:45:59 PM »
I'll have my Shriek powered Skyray out at the Apollo Field in the Sepulveda Basin tomorrow.  I expect Stan Tyler to be there with his awesome Twin Flitestreak (dual Medallion .049s, currently).  Also, I have my Pinto in the car along with the original Sky Sport.  Something ought to fly!   #^

I'm still not getting a decent run on the Pinto.  I am working with a pressurized AP Wasp using a Tee Dee venturi and Kirn fine thread needle valve assembly, something I haven't done before.  There were fuel foaming problems, pinched tubing problems.  Hopefully I'll get it all sorted out soon.

The fuel tank fell off the Skyray.

The Medallion proved to be really marginal for flying the SkySport.  I did make it through the pattern, but just barely.  Now I know!

Frustrating day!  Yesterday at Whittier Narrows went way better.  I got in several nice patterns on SkySport II with a Wasp, 5.5x2.5 prop and 10% fuel.  That plane is ready for 1cc at the Palmer Memorial next Saturday.
