Gilbert glowheads?
« on: October 03, 2011, 03:41:18 PM »
I do a little FF now and again and my Gilbert .07 and .11s do get some use. Even small children can start them, and that makes them feel good! Anything to get the younger generation interested.
With the demise of Virginia Hobbysport, my source of Gilbert glowheads has disappeared. The two guys that ran the shop were absolute gentleman and couldn't have been more help in sourcing bits and pieces.
Anyone know of an alternative source? I know that someone is still sitting on a pile of engines and spares! Alternatively, would this be the one engine that could use a standard, conventional glow plug in a modified glowheadhead? I should think the CR of these side port engines is so low that the performance would not suffer from such a modification! Thoughts?

I have several new unused Gilbert glow heads, mostly the .07 ones as the .11 glow heads also fit the Fox .09 so I sold most of them.  I also have several other parts including new crank cases.
