Clowning Around PArt II
« on: August 05, 2012, 03:34:17 PM »
Clown II Is ready for clear urethane top coat.  Wings are film covering, fuse and tail plane wood with filler nitrate coats and primed and painted with Testors rattle can lacquer.   (Daytona yellow and Mango Orange) Clear urethane will be an Omni two part automotive product applied with an airbrush.  Engine is a new NV 049 already run in on the bench.  Should be ready for the Sandwich contest in September, though I may not!

I am new to covering with film, and wondered if you are gonna spray the clear over the film, or tape it off?
  Thanks a lot...

I will not clear coat the film... just the painted areas.  The paint scheme does run onto the wing film covering about an inch a half.  The film was lightly rubbed with a fine scotchbrite pad to promote adhesion of the paint.
