AP .061 Venturi/NVA
« on: September 23, 2016, 11:59:04 AM »
I have several AP .061 R/C engines I am using for 1/2A scale models.A couple unfortunately have very poor machining tolerances on the carbs and I am not getting the most consistant runs.Somebody on Ebay had one that I missed that had a venturi/NVA as well as the carb.It was a nice sprinkler set up that resembled the ones on TeeDees but was held in with the carb screws instead of screwing in.Anyone know if that Venturi/NVA is available as a replacement part and where it's available?

NV and  Norvel carbs won't fit into a AP engine. The hole in the AP is round vs the oval of the NV.

Whoops, misread the op. You are correct sir. Looks like this one then. This is my friend joey's.
Trax, you're right. For 32$ their amazing. I wouldn't mind pulling this one out and see how much it would cost to get some made if they're not readily available. CNC cut nylon, or 3d printed nylon? Might be a possibility.

For sure trax. I can't do anything about the nva.I was thinking a Texas timer nva. But I'll get pricing.  If it's nylon, I'm sure that'll be a 50 pc min order. But I'll check. Then I'll send it to you for specs

My AP mod was posted here years back. I made a aluminum adapter and drilled and tapped the center for a Cox venturi. I was able to use the stock Cox setup or the KK unit for combat which is what my intended purpose was. It was stuck to the bulletin board when you entered the 1/2A section. I drilled out the holes that held the carb in place and tapped them for the set screws on a wheel collar which held the adapter in. Very easy. One could find a Tarno carb and screw it directly into the adapter.
