1/2A a landing gear...
« on: November 03, 2010, 01:07:42 PM »
Wondering if anybody has tried making landing gear by laminating 1/64 plywood and using a mold and boiling water to form it ?

no, but why not just use carbon fiber on the mold to make the gear.

I was thinking ply was cheaper and easier to get locally.
And carbon can be a witch as far a clean-up and splinters. If I was in my own place I would not mind. being displaced to my mom apt.limits the mess I can make.

Bill Gruby has made laminated 1/64" plywood landing gear for various planes. You can find information on how he did it on the Brotherhood of the Ring site (you must register to view the threads --it is free) www.brotherhoodofthering.info
