Here is a departure from my usual Warbird stable.  The Mako Jet is 600 squares, 44 ounces, LA46 or PA40RE Lite.  Tapered airfoil from 18% root to 16% tip.  Shark 45 outlines for wing and tail, hence the name.  Anhedral allows the RE engine muffler to not hit the wing and line up the vertical CG with the tips.  Plus it looks cool.

Actually, you still have a kinda "Warbird" theme going.  A touch here and there and you have an A-7 Corsair II pretty easily.

What are you using for reinforcement/doublers on the spars with the anhedral, anything?  Couldn't tell from the plans pdf.

Gotta say the Corsair Jet is one of my favorite, too.  Better go find some three views...
The spars are flat 1/4 X 1/2 in the center of the plane.  Actually they are 1/8" thick and doubled out to about rib 7 as I recall.  They meet in the center and get doublers.  The center section sheeting is one piece so the integrity is good through the middle.  A little reinforcement in the leading edge joining area.  That's all.

    I like it. I have built two Rayettes and have started the tail assembly for a Stingray. Brickhaus is issuing the plans for the Eclipse, another Gialdini Jet stunter. This Mako Jet is way too cool. How about a short kit minus the hardware?

I just did a redesign of the ribs so they will support a constant thickness 3/8" flap.  That will be a lot easier to manage than a tapered built-up flap system.  My spread sheet shows the price of the short kit plus at $104.  This includes plans, ribs, tips, flaps, 1/2" fuselage core parts, doublers, motor mounts cheek doubler, stab and elevator frame.  The builder needs to supply sheet stock and misc. other parts.

I think we could make up a pair with these two.  The reason for the shoulder wing was to make clearance for the rear exhasut PA40.  I have a muffler version, but a tuned pipe would fit just fine.  This is the easy to get a pipe on a profile plane.  You were cleaver in solving it by canting the engine.  Two paths of climbing the same mountain.  I like your Mig design.  Mine is a lot closer to the Corsair/Crusader look.

Well, maybe on the paint. As this model was close to being finished I was asked for helpful tips and techniques--on the plastic finish!

Yea, the canted engine is pretty much the same as I used on my Ringmaster Deluxe. Works pretty well and Dan just loves it.
