Great new plan coming soon

(1/1)

SteveMoon:
I am currently working on the plans for Tom Farmer's Forerunner 4.5.
This is a great flying .60 size profile that is very competitive on contest
day. There are some pics of it at the Memphis Stunt contest in the
Nov/Dec 2011 issue of Stunt News. Next time I see Tom at the field
I'll get some shots to post here. The plane is built with a lot of innovative
features: 1/64 ply over foam fuse and stab, foam wing with cutouts
and cap strips to resemble a built-up wing, and inboard motor mounting.
Possibly the best flying .60 size profile I've ever seen. I've also been
talking with Tom about offering a short kit of just the foam parts.
We'll keep you posted.

Thanks, Steve & John

John Christensen:
Somewhere I have an old catalog from Custom Models. The 60 size Forerunner was a plane that he was thinking about offering and was listed as a possible future kit. I have built three Forerunners and all three where good flyers. One of the Forerunners has been rebuilt with an inverted motor and a new longer fuse. My intent was to use it as a test bed for different motors as it uses a fiberglass motor mounting system, but it has turned out to be an even better flying plane with the changes. This time around, the motor, wing and stab most likely line up better to account for the improvement.
