I heard on a news or talk program early in the war that Putin said he was after the Nazi's. Then it was said that during the Great Patriotic War the Catholics sided with the Germans. So is this true? So Putin now sees all Catholics as Nazi's so the victims in the newly found mass graves are they mostly Catholic?

The Catholic Church was very anti-Communist.  Choosing to assist Nazis was choosing the lesser of two evils, so to speak.  NOT that I condone it ...

But who decides if it's a sect? I used to work with a Russian who is "Jehovah's Witnesses". He told me stories of mistreatment that would make the hair on your head stand up. His family had to escape Russia and now lives in the US.
