Title: Lines, Handles & Bellcranks
Post by: Douglas Ames on August 31, 2011, 08:08:56 PM
How about a Board subject for the above?
Everyone has opinions on all three subjects, especially handles and bellcranks.
Design concepts, new ideas, vintage equipment, hows and whys.
Think there'd be enough interest?

I dunno - it seems like most questions would either go into Engineering (for design), Building (for things like how to wrap ends, or handle-making), or Open (of "what type should I get?")  Get too specific and we'll have a "flaps" board and an "elevator" board, etc.

Exactly, all the info is scattered. These three things are the "other half" of a Control line model.

A more useful forum might be "Trimming Tips...from prop to handle", or something of that sort. There's lots of meat there. But the Search function is a useful tool, also, and I'd bet that not many use it.  :! Steve

There's a section for Engines. Why not for Control Systems?

I'm generally against adding more sections to a Forum but this one just might make sense.

Upon casual inspection, this is a good idea.  But we have enough trouble monitoring what we already have.  Moderation is an ongoing process that we almost cannot keep up with.
