The Republic XF-91 Had swept wings that flared out with the cord widest at the tip. I wonder how that would work with a C/L stunt plane with straight wing.

You might not like it in gusty or turbulent conditions

Our REJECT peacemaker , The Aeromudler one , had too quick cut rejects . SOMETIMES . Dont think we were sucked in more than once ! .
However , with a no nitrate Yin Yan , if you whipped it hugely for five laps , clibing in the last two , then dived -
You Might get a loop. If you kept whipping !
If you didnt you didnt .
The Field was three football fields , with 80 foot 45 degree banks , between levels . ( all remodelled now >:( )
A outside loop from level , it'd PULL Somewhat . Unexpectedly . On a good day you might get it back up to ' ground level ' again .
At least once or twice I DID .
SO , Dont use a Yin Yan ! other than that , im not sure Its entirely Relevant , HOWEVER . Some current dwelling on WINGS might help .
The old YARDSTICK undercarrage mounts . A PINE Stick across , to ' catch the loads ' .
You might figure the Center of Area , on a side . And run a fancy Caron Backed or somesuch , cross spar . Anchored securely in the fuselage .
This'd sort of ' get ' the thing evenerish stressed - and you can put the wings on the other way round , if it dosnt work backward ! S?P LL~
ACTUALLY , This could look darned good .

Hunt Thunderchiefish or that blokes MURAT ish , if you went sorta scale . STYLE .

You lost me there, Air Ministry. Anyway, I was thinking of a straight, not swept wing design. You a big Devo fan. "Whip it, whip it good!" ;D

Yin Yans and solid foam wing ' flite steaks ' ( peacemaker ) have a performance that may not be described as invigorateing .
The FOAM WINGS they cut TOO QUICK sagged ( the cutting wire ) in the middle . So gave the effect you mentioned . Amougst others . n~
IF you had a say 1 1/2 x 3/8 STRONG ' stick , going across say 30 inches or three feet , with slip on wings . Ply Ribs at root and spar end - or a box spar sliding over the ' stick ' ,
You could have slide on detachable wings , and then , if the thick tips roll it 90 degrees when you hit your slipstream , offsett . You can put em on normal , later .
After youve explored all the avenues of performance . IGNORE the Foam Peacemaker , Wasnt a ' Comp. ship . We built better before we met that lot !
Youll never know till you try it . A X in -planform - winged thing , closed across'd have very wide chord way out . !
Was a British ' Martin Baker maybe , Design sketch of something akin to youre idea . NOT THIS .

coulda beena Saunders Roe rocket plane - Think it was never built - theyed draw myrid concepts for evaluation . AS Control Lines TEATHERED , you can try stuff inapropriate to free flight !
Wake in the middle should be less than conventional ships , maybe giving it sharp precise controls . ;D

It might work. But it would be ugly as hell.
-
Really, if that had worked we would have more develop of the design. D>K
-
But it Wasnt Control Line ! . VD~ S?P
With lucky box slots and removable wings , he could try them BOTH WAYS , for a DIRECT Comparison .

In a video about the XF-91, it was said the plane performed fairly well. The design was supposed to prevent or minimize wingtip stalls. Now if that's an issue with C/L, not sure. Seen video of RC planes crashing from tip stall.
