RC CAD

(1/1)

Another forum user, Phil once recommended that I look at Model CAD, but I can't find something under that name that fits the description. What I did find was: http://rccad.com/

Has anyone here tried it or anything similar? I looks useful for model design, although I doubt it can replace conventional 2D or 3D CAD for drawing plans. I'm downloading the demo, so I'll see how it goes.

Phil Smith:
Hi Adrian, the programe I have is "Instant Modeller".

Phil.

Thanks Phil, I'll look it up. I'm going to have to get TurboCAD anyway I think.

For the record, RC CAD is a pretty simple 3d visualisation tool. You enter your specs (span, taper, chord, airfoil etc and it builds up a 3d model that you can rotate and view. You can also print out line drawings and save DXFs. It seems useful, but is never going to produce anything more than the simplest working drawings. Worth dowloading the free demo for a play, but thats all.

Actually, while searching for "Instant Modeller" the only useful webpage that came up also had ModelCAD on it. Made by the same company...
