Title: Igor's Logarithmic Flap Setup
Post by: jfv on January 31, 2020, 05:12:32 PM
Considering using Igor’s Logarithmic flap setup on my new plane.  Wondering regarding anyone’s experience with the setup.

I use it.  Works a treat.  Did I send you my control geometry program?

No you never sent the program.  I would appreciate a copy.

Does it have to be lubricated? The linkage that is, not the program.

Thanks

Thank you for clarifying the question.  My wife wouldn't have done so. She has decided that English has too many nouns to remember, so now she only uses pronouns or a universal substitute, "whatchmacall".  Worse yet, she uses masculine and feminine gender pronouns interchangeably.

I think the linkage should be lubricated.  Here is my attempt to lubricate it: https://stunthanger.com/smf/open-forum/abusing-medical-technology-to-oil-soak-the-inside-of-my-airplane/msg535214/#msg535214 .  Next time I may use some Igus slippery stuff instead of a ball bearing for the slider.

I hadn't considered lubricating the program, but now that you mention it, noise that I thought was coming from too coarse an iteration may be due to lack of lubrication.
