Just a couple of weeks ago put another full pattern on it. The controls have been cut way down and it is still sensitive. The other thing is what is called a "Jumbo". Still trying to find a prop to keep it over 5.3 second laps. Flies great at 5.5, but, the needle is so rich can not gaet past the half way point of pattern. DOC Holliday

Tandem Canard, around 700 sq-in total, OS 35. Flew very stable, did nice rounds, soft squares and don't even think about-it triangles! Lead-out guide forced wing to twist making for some VERY intersting turn and roll coupling!

It actually migt be possible to make it work, but frankly it makes you want to build a green box Nobler...!

Just looking through this post today and noticed I had not answered a question its a puller canard. I hope I did not throw it away after I crashed it, going to check the attic. Here is a picture of my pusher canard I had to add so much nose weight it would’t fly, so I stuck a 15 on the front and it did not fly any better.

Yes I like to try things that different at times (don't we all?). The Delta Force is hoot to fly and required making a few mods to get it right. Ask me about the momo-wheel and outriggers sometime, it was fun to watch at least <LOL> HB~>. I am working on the fit check model now and hopefully I can have it finished by the end of the summer. Requires a super strong 40 or a LA 46 at the very least, it is bigger than you think with over 900 squares. S?P

I used it for two years and at one contest that had several top 20 flyers there I won. That day the weather got so bad no one could finish the pattern. It was a very good flyer in high winds or I just lucked out. Bill Rich has a lot of videos of me flying this thing and his comments are humerus to say the least.

I like it John. I have tried differnt designs but its a lot of work adding up to a lot of dissapointment. Not sorry I tried them but basically decided to not try stuff to radical. IO think yours will work. Besides I know you like two engines running at once. Kool Maaaaan. H^^ H^^ H^^ H^^ H^^ H^^ HB~>

I have built a couple Push pullers and both flew great especially the red one. The Fokker 23 is a little heavy for the wing area but not bad. You have to keep the rear engine as far forward as you can or it will be really tail heavy. The elevator push rod needs to be stiff or the elevator will flutter. also you can use any engine you want. they don’t have to be the same make or size. The main thing is too train your helper in how to hold the plane for the launch.

The T tail airplane in the picture was built by my flying buddy Roy Tucker from Brockton, MA. He covered it with cigarette box aluminium foil as a test prior to building an 8' Northrop XB 35 flying wing for CL scale. The T tail used a modified Ares wing and was very competitive befor e he added the weight of the foil covering.
I have pictures of the T tail in it's original paint and the flying wing. He brought the XB 35 wing to the Nat's and got top static score but one negine quit before he got his required laps in.

Roy is not in good health but still with us and I talk to him quite a bit. He spent a lot of years restoring and building custom cars with his amazing craftsmanship. All of his cars were great and won many awards at East Coast car shows.
He was one of the premiere builders in the country. He donated the XB 35 to the Smithsonian and it was on display for many years.
The middle airplane was my original I Beam lightning. I had some great shootouts with Gene Shaffer with this plane.
Thanks for posting the photo - brings back some great memories.

That is the one. Got mine off of Ebay with the artical reprint. Guys says he flew it 100 foot lines. Mine is powered with Fox .45. Last prop was a 13-5 APC. Need to put a layer of silkspan and dope on it to stiffen it up. Anything faster than 5.3 laps and it disappears about the second level lap. As long as I am doing loops and eights no problem.
