Title: Avanti stab/ elevator

Hi,  I was hoping for some input. I am in the middle of building an Avanti,and in the process I tried to make my stab and elevators lighter, the results were not lighter for the elevators but lighter for the stab. The way I did it resulted in both the stab and elevators 1/8" thicker because I sheeted them with 1/16" sheeting.My question is will this have any affect on flying characteristics? They are very stiff now and I plan on using film to cover the tail surfaces to keep it light.                                                                                                                                                                                                        Thanks, Jim Morris

Should  be absolutely no problem.  Lighter and stiffer is nothing but good.  The thickness won't matter.
