« on: August 04, 2022, 07:45:48 AM »
I see the US CL Stunt team is in Poland for the Worlds, is the Speed team also there? Who is on the team?

Best,   DennisT

The speed team is Alex Valishev, junior world champ Ivan Valishev, Bill Hughes, and first-time F2A team member Patrick Hempel. Patrick has been working hard and is capable of running in the 290's. The others should need no introductions.

World Cup results per team supporter Bill Lee: "Alex won it at 305 or so. Ivan was 4th, Billy was 5th. Pat was at bottom, not last but almost." Patrick switched models for the World Champs and practiced at 294. Go team USA!

I just checked the results for rounds 1 & 2.  Alex is in a very solid 1st with a 305.5 and a 308.8 I think it was.  Ivan is tied for 2nd with a 305.0 with Lucca Grossi from Italy.  Lucca is the current WC.  Billy Hughes had a 298+ flight which is well up in the rankings but I don't have the placings in front of me right now.  It looks very good for an Individual first for Alex and a junior first for Ivan.  I think he won last time also.  Looks good for a team win also.
     Way to go guys!

Don't forget about Patrick Hempel. He posted a 294 today for 7th place. His home club in Dallas is rooting for him!

Bill,

It is Billy Hughes at 7th with a 298.2 kph and Patrick Hempel is 12th with a 294.8 kph as of the 2nd round.  Good speeds for all of our team members.  Looking good!  Go team !
In F2B Stunt our man Orestes Hernandez is currently sitting in 2nd and will surely make the finals but they have more flights to go to determine the winner.

If memory serves, Alex Vilashev now has the world record at 308.8 kph.

After 3 rounds:

Alex 1st at 308.8
Bill 7th at 299.0
Patrick 13th at 294.8

Team 1st place over the Hungarians by .4kph.

I haven't seen the third round results, but defending Junior champion Ivan Valishev has a 305 kph flight, which also counts towards the US team.
