I've been trying to obtain a new D unit for a couple of years now so I could finish a Rossi .60 Kansas Twister with no luck. If you have better luck than I please send me the contact. I do have two original H&R units but I'm hesitant to use them due to age and Zoots bad experience with one.

I have a hand drawn plan for making one. If interested let me know.

I tried contacting Marty a couple of times but had no reply.
I have one of his 2 button bell cranks, which I got from another forumite.  It's beautifully made but the bell crank doesn't turn on the bushing, which I'm told is normal. However, I don't know of a way to mount it securely in a 1/4" thick wing without leaving enough slop so it can turn. So, I pretty much have given up finishing my model.

Adding a washer between the crank and the bell crank mount would just add more thickness to deal with. The Twister wing is 1/4" basswood so there's not much room to play with using a button crank. The wing is more suited to having a monoline torque unit down the center.

The bushing thickness is .156" including a thin extra washer. Here's a couple pictures showing two options I have. A new torque unit would definitely solve my problem.

Don't worry about getting the entire bellcrank inside the wing. Install the bellcrank beneath the wing with the buttons and lines recessed into the wing. An appropriately sized steel cap screw with an unthreaded grip portion can secure the bellcrank and also be the pivot.

Have you considered making one? Everything could be done with simple tools except for the button. I think the hard part would be drilling the cross hole in the anchor. 

Check in the racing section as Bill B. shows how to make a button and how to attach to bell crank.  I have done several so far with no failures.  Get screws/bolts from RTL Fasteners.  He also has the blind nuts.
