Three Perky's at Rouge Park - May 16, 2009

Perky Speed – Rouge Park – Detroit, Michigan
May 16, 2009

Last night’s weather featured loud thunderstorms and torrential rain might have scared off weaker contestants.  Saturday wasn’t so bad, but wind gusts still hit 31 MPH.  Somehow, all three Perky flyers got scores without losing any planes.

Ken Towers, Saint Thomas, Ontario.

Ken got in two attempts with his Enya powered BHM kit Perky.  His best score was 58.81 seconds, 61.8 MPH.

Jon Brzys, Llvonia, Michigan

Jon got in three attempts with his BHM kit Perky, powered by a Novell .15.  His best effort was 53.09 or 67.8 MPH.

Paul Smith, Sterling Heights, Michigan

This scratch-built Perky is powered with a Nelson FISE 15.  It only made one attempt due to a scuffed prop.  46.43 seconds for 77.5 MPH.

All three airplanes are still in one piece.  We expect to do better at the T&D and The Brodak.

A few more pics from the same event.

All six landings were upside right.
