After looking over the speed records I see we have a small problem.
A Speed is a 15 in 1964 and the record we are using was set by a 19 in 1957
So the correct record is:

1964 - 151.07 – Phillip Bussell – Original Blue Bonnet – Super Tigre 15 – Rev-Up 5.75x8

Open Record
1/2A Speed   107.61   1962     Warren Kurth         Peanuts II       Cox TD 049       Tornado 4.25x7
A Speed       151.07    1964     Bill Bussell             Blue Bonnet     Super Tiger 15   Rev-Up 5.75x8
B Speed       161.23    1964     John Newton          Pink Lady        K&B 29 sr. 64    Top Flite 7x9.5
C Speed       174.52    1964     Jim Summersett      No Morals        Rossi 60           Rev-Up 9x12
B Proto         135.49   1964      B.C. Hassis & Boyd  Origial Design   Original 29       Tornado 7x13/16
                                           Shelton
Jet Speed      177.27   1957   Ted Reese

Not exactly sure just where you are getting your info on these records BUT on 22 Feb 1964, H & R set the  Open B Record at Buckeye Arizona with a speed of 167.53, and I have the record certificate to prove it.

The existing record at that time was by D. R. Willard was 166 and change.

Hey Steve, If you want to go back a bit further I held two "Senior" records in 1954 as follows:
Class B - 134.21  Dooling 29 (The following day I turned 21 and went into OPEN class.
Class D - 159.992 Dooling 61
Both certificates issued by AMA and signed by Kieth H. Story.

Sorry Guys, I'm not ignoring you but I don't log on to this for very often.  We have not flown Vintage Speed at the Nats for the past 2 year due to lack intrestest, and no plans for the future.  It was a neet idea just just very took off.

Steve
