Joey,

Discussions with Joe Brownlee about 70 X 0.020.  Safe till 167 MPH (169 with 60 X 0.022 lines.

Northwest uses 70 X 0.018 with lighter maximum weight airplanes.

New Zealand uses 65.2 X .020

Rough estimate of speeds from memory  (don,t have my notes)

60 X 0.022  -153 mph
70 X 0.020   -150
70 X 0.018   -157
65 X 0.020   -154.5

NASS uses the shortest Sport Jet lines in the world.

Dave Dawson, who has entered S-J at Whittier (Jim Rhoades proxy) and Bruce Ferrell of Denver (Greg Settle proxy) who are nor members of this forum both told be they would fly their own Sport-Jets on longer lines.  I fly mine with the Dyna-Jet, but my Bailey record setter is still too fast for me on short lines.

Why exclude flyers to keep the short lines?  Speed Flyers are in short supply as it is.

Joey, and the other optimist that voted for 52 foot Sport-Jet monoline-

A 153 MPH S-J would go about 184 MPH on 52 X .033 monoline. this is 1.22 sec a lap- same as 246MPH on 70 foot lines.  Be careful what you wish for.

Joey,
Maybe you could post the rules or explain them so we that are not in the know could see the difference.
Dad and Harry Latshaw have been in touch with dave Cotton and are now toying with the idea of building a Sport Jet. Old farts flying jets means it is going to have to be doable. Slow lap times are key, in my opinion.

Joey,

I'll scan them tomorrow and post to Stunt Hangar

Note to Chris McMillen,  at record speed current short lines, 1.67 sec/lap- proposed longer lines, 1.95 sec/lap.  G force reduced to 85%.

Joey,

Can't find a way to scan and send an enclosure to Stunt Hangar.  Contact me at dyna.soar@verizon.net and I'll send the scan of Sport-Jet rules to you for posting here.

Would it work if you copy and pasted it as part of a messege???   on short lines I had a speed trainer flying on 7 metre lines rotation was 10 laps in 8.8 secs the speed wasnt the problem but the 45 laps range  n~

.88 sec a lap is way out of my range in my youth i could do 1.2 now it is more like 1.4 per lap you are very fast to be able to turn that fast that is amazing. would like to see that one on utube. as far as the sj rules go i am not so good with puters and feel lucky to particapate in these forums with the little bit of skill i do have.
