Title: Refurb of a B speed ship
Post by: Dane Martin on November 13, 2020, 09:59:07 AM
Joey Mathison brought this B speed plane from one of his trips back east (east of here anyway). I've been wanting to get it going, but kept getting involved in other stuff. Like building ringmasters. Any way, I was messing around at my friend's house, who is an avid free flight competitor. He said he had this OPS 29 and didn't like the way it ran. I said, I think those were all pipe timed. He said, well then you try it!
I emailed Bill Hughes for a new pipe, header and spinner assembly. So it's finally getting ready to fly!

Relatively hurtful, you scallywag

MM, I sanded and half @$$ polished the pan. Other than some touch up and maybe clear in some spots, it'll remain the same

Bill Hughes really came through on this one! New spinner, pipe and header. I gotta make a rear mount strap and solder some lugs on the tank. I'm gonna make my tank shiftable (to "shim" it

Nice, what prop you looking at?

Motorman 8)

That is the part I'll leave up to the experts when the time comes. I have some practice props that could get it airborne, but I'll consult Joey and maybe even John Newton for sizing. Then I'll pick up some unfinished blanks from Steve Wilk
