Middlesex hosted it's first speed/racing meet of the year yesterday. The weather was at least half of what we dreamed about. No rain but plenty of wind and gusting. Fortunately it was not a stunt meet! A big plus was the air density at 136 ft. Those who were ready would be rewarded. Here are the results
Perky: Jim Vigani Super Fora 118.93
Tom Schaefer Nova Rossi 106.57
Ernie Evon Nova Rossi 101.06
Fox: Al Ferraro 97.06
We also had a visitor, Craig Gunder, who is well along on constructing his first Perky. He got to see the whole Perky thing from frustration to elation and, hopefully, we will see his ship in the air this season!

Do you have a racing schedule yet?

Good question Bill. We have a couple more meets scheduled for this year. One in May. We always bill them as speed and racing but lately there have not been enough of us to race. We look forward to Brodak where we can race a few different classes.

Will there be enough for a race if a few wayward Texans show up?
-
If something like that should happen we could plan for it and 'curate' a couple of events. We have clowns for Brodak and our own sport rules which limit speed to 22 sec. and laps to 140. Both on 52's. A couple of Fallas GY planes, Brodak and trad Foxberg and BTR.
Scheduled dates are Nov 6 and 20.
