Title: Perky rules
Post by: Alan Hahn on May 31, 2008, 09:53:29 AM
Just a question about the rules we are using for the various Perky events, specifically line size, line type (stranded and solid) and pull test.

I know there may be more than a single set of rules, and I don't mind that, as long as I know which set I'm trying to fly to!

I was a little confused by the speed column in this months MA which gave a pull test of 25 grams! I assume it was meant to be 25"g's", but I have also seen in a post or two a 25 lb value (which would be 25g's for a 1 lb plane of course).

Thanks and I don't mean to set off any firestorms!

For others, here is a link to the rules for the BlackHawk Postal Perky Contest Rules (I found Larry's thread below).
http://www.blackhawkmodels.com/perkycontest.html

The only difference (I noticed) between the BlackHawk and NASS rules is the Blackhawk specifies lines at 0.015, which I assume could be stranded. I can handle the difference. But I do need to finish my Perky. Just cleaned off the bench in the basement, so I'll be (re)starting tomorrow night!
