Perky for 2026

I assumed this position when the previous Brodak event director and score keeper faded out after 2014.  I was considering retiring from the positions when The Brodak Fly In reduced the days and squeezed-out Perky.  But three scores have already poured-in so I decided to continue.
I dug up the history of closest-to-average scores.  It's posted here.    The Brodak was not held in 2020 and 2021 and the whole contest program was depressed due to the covid scare.  The few scores from those years were combined into one.  Fortunately, The Brodak came back to life in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
I have a 2025 closest-to-average plaque in hand for Al Ferraro.
I have decided to follow the precedent of Stunt, Scale, 15 Carrier and Skyray Carrier and accept electric and piston scores on an equal basis.  As always, each person will be ranked by his best score.
I will continue to provide a plaque to the fastest flyer of the year if his speed surpasses that of Bob Whitney, something in the 120 & change range.
I will also provide a closest-to-average plaque if ten different people submit scores.  Also, I will not provide plaques to repeat winners.  I set this precedent by not making myself a second award.
If the "high eighties" estimate for E-Perky proves to be true it would effectively lower the average and make the event more interesting

Paul, thanks for keeping this thing alive. Will be interesting to see if the electric Perkys drag the average speed down.

MM :)
