Hey Paul  :)!  Please forgive my old memory, but what were the requirements for submitting times?  Unfortunately, the way it looks, "Life" is not going to permit me to attend any of the big, organized contests this year, most likely  :(.  I know about and can comply with the requirements for the lines, engines, planes and such but what about witnesses  ????  Are they required  ????  If so, how many and finally, how do I submit their testimonials  ????  Thanks for your patience and support.

I'll take your word for it.

Attached is the update based on data from July.

Please note that five people either got on the scoreboard or improved at The  AMA Nats.

This years average is now over 101 MPH.

I finally broke 100, which puts me in 9th place for the year at 101.4 MPH.

A big thanks to my crew of the day, Lenny Bourel on the starter, Keith Morgan, launcher and Jack Easton on the watch.

Also to Alexander Semenchenkp for the F2A bellcrank and Brian Drzewiecki of B-J Machining for the all-important spinner adapter.

After my fiasco at Muncie, an ounce of buckshot set in Prop Shop Epoxy (Warren, MI) got the plane tamed down to an easy flyer.  There is still a lot of meat on the bone, now that it flys.

Here is the latest update with improved scores from Dayton, Toronto and Australia.  Two new people and some improvement from Henry Nelson, Carl Dodge and myself.

I checked the link & it opens OK.  Look at the bottom left of your screen after you clip the link.

Thus far we have 17 reported scores of which 10 are over 100 MPH.

After two consecutive rain delays we were able to put in a fine day of flying in Detroit.  With help of Ed Brzys and Ron Colombo and scoring by Mike Londke, I was finally able to better my personal best, not once but four times.  The ultimate score was 33.37, 107.88 MPH, which puts me in 6th place in the 2017 International Perky Postal.  A revised tank scheme, suggested by Ed & Ron was the critical factor.

The Postal is open until November 15th of this year.

Note: Whilst changing props, Ed & Ron detected the unique spinner adapter, one-of-a-kind from B-J Machining in Macomb County Michigan that joins the Ukranian engine and the Texan spinner.

I have amended the scoreboard per your posting.  We now have 19 entries, of which 10 are above 100 MPH.  The current average is 98.69 MPH.

I will stick with the established cutoff date of November 15th.  Go for it this weekend!

See the attached Excel spreadsheet.

I have submitted my plan to Brodak higher HQ and am awaiting confirmation.  Perky & Fox 35 will continue as before.  There will be some adjustment to Sportsman Speed and it with continue to be an either/or deal with Fox 35 Speed.

Thanks.

It needed nose weight, a better tank and a good crew behind it.

I have to thank my crew: Lenny Bourel, Keith Morgan, Ed Brzys, Ron Colombo, Mark Warwashana and Leon Rytarzyk.   Stunt, combat and carrier technology at work.

Hey Paul!  Just curious .... is the Perky Postal 2018 "drop dead" reporting date the same period as 2017?  November ??,  2018  ??? ???
Title: Re: Perky Postal for 2018.
Post by: Paul Smith on August 27, 2018, 01:55:22 PM
I'm sticking with November 15th.

You don't actually drop dead, you just enter in the next year.

Here'what I have thus far:

If you don't care to open the Excel file, the leader is Bob Whitney at 116.85 MPH (188.05 KPH).

There are currently 12 people on the scoreboard.

You can post scores here.

It's one mile (16 laps) from a standing start with a 15 on suction with 10% nitro and a Matt Kania Perky design.
