My vote would be for either of Carl Dodge's Perkys.
Also, are you taking pre-production deposits/orders???

Not yet the kits will not be available until about October. Two weeks ahead we offer pre sales that offer you a discount. We have had a bit of interest in it so we may increase the number that we are ordering. The parts will be laser cut and there will still be a couple of blocks for you to shape. We want to recreate the Megow kit with hardware and laser cut parts.

The CAD is on the way to the laser cutter. This locks in the Perky Project. Now as to hardware...? We were thinking that vintage type hardware and typical 1947 type of set up would be the way to go, this is the 60th Anniversary Edition. I know that you guys racing them all have your own ideas on how to do it and achieve the most performance from this model. So here is the plan:
Metal bellcrank mounted to a plate on top of the motor mounts, push rod inside of the fuselage, metal control horn inside of the fuselage, music wire leadouts under the wing and a line guide on the wing tip with two metal eyelets. That is 1947 the way it was designed to be built. Does anyone want to suggest the thickness of the landing gear wire?
Make suggestions quick as we start drawing up the plans this week. %^@

i used 1/8 wire LG and find it overkill. 3/32 is about right

The BellCrank should be mounted on the underside of the wing....You need room the the Fuel tank..or make provisions for the tank to be mounted above the bellcrank then...The Tank needs to be removable...my old one was not that way and now has a leak...lots of work to replace the tank..and 3/32 wire for the landing gear will be fine, but the wheels need to be in a more forward position than shown on the original plans. The models DO NOT land very well with the wheels that far back.

Weeelllll,,,,I got some expensive education in building and flying Perky. Now I'm almost ready for Lesson 2.
Two conflicting slogans:
"Do it right the first time", and "Practice makes perfect".
I got one good time on the first pass, then increased the power and got into a disasterous control issue.
The second pass was a hurry-up job aimed at getting the airplane to fly before the snow does.
I resolved the bellcrank/gastank conflict by having the bellcrank indoors and letting the fuel tank show a little bit.
It's just silver paint, not a real mag pan. The bellcrank bolt fixes the top & bottom.

Is this a new model recently built? What's that engine?

Built last March, flown in May, crashed in June, patched up today.
Some old 1982 Nelson FIRE.
