Title: Perky Fuel?
Post by: Dave Rigotti on May 23, 2021, 11:07:02 AM
The current rules specify 10% spec control line speed for the fuel to be used.
These are: "Fuel for two-cycle glow plug engines shall contain 10% nitromethane, 20% lubricant, and the rest shall be methanol."

My question... Is the 20% lubricant all synthetic or castor or a blend?

i am fairly sure the nats will be 50 /50..for your own flying anything as long as it is 20%,i would suggest at least 5%caster

In my limited Nats speed experience, you have two jugs to chose from:  0% nitro and 10% nitro.  The same for everybody.
These guys value their engines, so the oil will be good.

NASS Special Blend spec fuel is 10% Nitromethane, 20% Lube (15% Synthetic / 5% Bakers AA Castor), and 70% Racing Methanol.

It's a safe bet Ritch's Brew will be the NATS supplier this year. I placed an order with SIG for St. Louis & Dayton and was told the fuel was backordered TBD.
