Perky for 2020 / 2021
« on: August 05, 2020, 08:06:35 PM »
Bob Whitney    104.58
Carl Dodge    104.21
Glen VanSant    103.36
Bill Hughes    99.35
Patrick Hemple    90.50
John Moll             80.64

The above is a tabulation taken from the AMA Nats scoreboard.   Due to the reduced contest schedule I will be doing a two-year Perky Postal covering what there is of 2020 and hopefully 2021 if happens.

I welcome more input.  I only need each person's best score and the venue.

The above were all from the AMA Nats in Muncie.

Thank you, I have amended the scoreboard.

Bob Whitney is still number 1 by a wider margin.

I have received and reviewed the Dayton Cold Cash Speed Bash Perky scores.  They DO NOT include any improved scores for Perky.

However, they do include two F2A scores in excess of 300 KPH.

We got to make a few first flights of the year for Perky today. Finally!
C. T. Schaefer    114.1   Nova Rossi - APC  6x5 - Pilot, CTS  (The Geezer)
Ernie Evon           99.9   Cox             APC  6.5x5   Pilot, Big Al

We have two official meetings coming up in November so there is a chance we can improve some.

   Here's what I have for Perky 2020.

Average    103.14
Place     Name    Speed
1   C.T. Shaefer    116.40
2   Al Ferraro            114.30
3   Bob Whitney    114.02
4   Ernie Evon            105.50
5   Carl Dodge    104.21

7   Bill Hughes    99.35
8   Patrick Hemple    90.50
9   John Moll            80.64

As I said before, due to the shortage of events I will be doing 2020 & 2021 as a combined two-year event.

If anyone has a better number thus far, please post them.

Some new scores came in from Dayton & Middlesex.
We now have eleven names on the scoreboard.
The top is 116.40.
The average is 100.10

Due to reduced action in 2020, this is a TWO-year event, ending November 15, 2021.

Paul,
Where can I find the scoreboard online?

You can't find it on line.

I publish it here.  I will publish again after The Nats if anybody moves up.

Paul,
Are all the Perky event allowed to have the model shipped to the event an flown by someone there? Can we do a team entry with only one team member at the event?

I think traditionally you either have to fly the plane or flip the prop although there have been incidents where medical concerns relieve you of either duty.

Even before I assumed the job, proxy entries have been accepted.  So you CAN ship the plane to a contest & have a crew fly it and submit a score.
It's a POSTAL contest, so we take people's word for things.

But we would draw the line at having two or more people submit scores with the same airplane.
There are unlimited attempts and a person can use several airplanes, but only a person's best score counts.

Paul,
Now that the NATS are over and we can get into the rest of the flying season, any idea what the 2021 Perky contest calendar is shaping up to be?

I would suggest going to any contest with pavement and getting the people to time your Perky.  Historically, The Brodak Fly In and the AMA Nats were the only actual Perky contests.

I am aiming for the Michigan State Meet in Detroit and maybe an event in Dayton.

If they have something in Kalamazoo, I might take a poke at a Perky score.

Middlesex Modelers  hold at least 3 official meets a year for Perky and Fox Speed.  Check North East contest schedule for dates.  TS
