I'm glad to hear that.

With speed up to 122 MPH, it needs to be built  stout.  Very very stout.  Modern 15's have a lot of power & RPM.

Paul,
I am a machine designer with 50 years experience designing heavy industrial equipment for extreme environments. I am very cautious about building excess weight into airplane designs, but I always evaluate the service and ensure that the airplane is not designed with poor structure. As I am sure you are aware, there are too many C/L airplane designs with insufficient structure.

Thanks,  Pat

Pat, I built my first Perky from the kit and found a couple of issues that would apply to anyone who builds one whether they are chasing ultimate speeds or just enjoying a cute vintage model.  The landing gear places the wheels too far back and also leaves very little room for a fuel tank behind the motor. The one piece elevator is too weak in the middle and breaks easily. Surprisingly the built up wing works ok although our second/third gen Perkies have carved wings. My original kit built Perky is still in service and has flipped on landing numerous times. Despite the hard knocks it put down a speed of 103+ a couple of weeks ago.  Your kit should be popular!   TS
