2 PerkE planes were flown at the Dayton NATS Warmup Event held June 20 and 21, 2026.
Saturday winds were up at 12MPH and test flying the PerkE planes went well. Speeds were down a bit due to the high winds with speeds in the low 70ish MPH. No issues were experienced with the down wind take offs, level flight, and landings.  Yes, the handle needed "pumped" a bit due to the higher winds, but easily managed.
     Sunday brought light 3-5MPH winds with speeds increasing throughout the day. Several battery packs were tested and for me, the 1300Mah ones were a bit faster than 1,050Mah ones. Less voltage sag at the end of flight is my guess.  No tansit-trace timing was used so individual lap times were not available.
     Both planes are box stock with the required motor and 6x6ep prop.  I used a generic Amazom 30A ESC while Mike used a BadAss Rebel Lite V2 30A ESC.  We "traded" best speeds all day!  At the end of the day the results were very close!

We'll be flying again at the NATS on Wednesday July 8th at site 6.

Mine came in at 17.1 oz. I did spend some time on the finish. Not that it mattered, I killed it on the first flight. Pilot error.

Mike Couts did his with iron on. Nicely done. Didn't get the weight.

I'm taking Perk E scores along with Perky.  I've taken four scores thus far. 

Mine weighs 17.6 including the tip weight I added. There is no way to exceed the 20 ounce limit.  I doubt anybody can get under 16.5 ans stil hold together.
