Hi Everybody I have just got a ph call from Andrew Robinson who has absolutely smashed the NZ Jet Record at the NZ Nats.
He did a test flight of 184mph on 20% nitro fuel then tried hot fuel ( 60 nitro 40 prop)
1st flight was 210.63 mph
2nd flight 211.83mph
3rd flight 210.50 mph
This is the first time a 200mph flight has been officially done in NZ and to do it by over 10mph is phenominal .
The plane is his version of lenny's model which I supplied him as a basic kit , the engine is a JB mk2. Lines are 19.9m in length and 0.8mm thick. The valve was one of my waterjet cut ones which lasted all 4 flights.
This is a fantastic result and once I get the video it will be on youtube asap
All the Best

Congradulaltions to Andrew on the record. That is what happens when you listen to the people that know. Of course he knew a lot before hand too. Hopefully he will make it to the US NATS again. I think he was one of the guys at the table I sat at on opening night of the 2004 Worlds. Have seen him and his brother at the US NATS since also.

Doc we all have our airtickets for the 2010 nats. I Will be trying to do my best in sportjet and fastjet. My 2nd place last time around was a awesome experience.. I am sure once I get my modeling room back after our renovations are complete a lot of experimenting will be done.
Regards
Robert
