Title: Mike Langlois
Post by: Dick Tyndall on August 29, 2022, 09:49:12 AM
I just found out that Mike Langlois passed away on June 12th. I don't know any of the circumstances leading to this. He was 65 years old. I last saw him in 2017 when I went down to his business with a R/C boat friend of mine and got the "nickel tour" from Jim Allen ( also passed away a few years ago ) on how he put together the Nelson .40 Pylon engines.
Mike was one of the controline speed guys in the Greensboro, North Carolina area in the '70's and '80's and was part of the Langlois, Huff, Hurlocker Speed team that broke the Jet speed record in 1978 at 213 MPH and change. Bill Pardue was part of the crew that day. Mike did a lot for R/C Pylon racing in recent years holding big contests at the Julian airport in North Carolina. He will be missed by many. My condolences go out to his friends and family.
