Would Magnum XLS 15 be a suitable engine choice for a Perky? It is ABC with dual BB.
-
I don't know much about perky yet, other than its a great event for older engines. It's about being right in the middle for hitting average speed. I have seen the magnum in action plenty of times in racing. It's a great engine that starts easily. Very reliable.
So, it ain't the fastest, but in perky you don't particularly want the fastest. I'm building one later with an old cyclon F2D combat engine

Dane is right. The engine isn't a top choice especially if you are going for the top speed. If you are to predict the average then ok. A good cyclon pc2 or later should be around 100 mph.

if you should by any chance hear of a Cyclon pc2 or similar F2D engine that is in good shape, unloved, in need of an airplane, please let me know. Thanks

I located Cyclone P6, so for now will hold off on the Nova Rossi. Now need to find spinner, Bellcrank and Horn.
