Title: Glen Lee Wheels
Post by: Motorman on August 16, 2016, 02:56:23 PM
Want to make wheels for my own use out of convenience mostly and i want to make my own shapes. I can make any kind of mold I need but, what compound do you use?

I found Axson UR-3558 polyurethane that they use to make skateboard wheels. Haven't found where to get it from yet.

Talked to Glen he said he had to by a 5 gallon pail that cost 1000 something dollars, that's allot of wheels.

Not as hard as skateboard wheels he said, more like 60A hardness.

Still looking. The 1-1/2" wheels will measure close to 1-5/8ths. Called Glen Lee again and his phone's been disconnected.

Motorman - I've used polyurethane from Grainger or McMaster to beef up a trans mount. They sell it as a 1lb kit (base and hardener) in different hardness-es. Watch out though. It is really runny until it starts to thicken up.

Do you need wheels for wire gear or for flat aluminum gear?

I'll sell you a pair of 1 5/8" Glenn Lee black wheels for 1/8" wire gear for $10.00 shipped, or a pair of 1 1/2" KK's for $12.00. Or buy both... All are new and unmolested. Send a PM if interested.
