Title: Fox Stunt Speed AND Perky speed line wrapping question......
Post by: Dave Rigotti on March 19, 2021, 03:16:55 PM
Rules state .014 solids at 52' 6" centerline model to centerline handle for Perky.
Using Figure #1 loop construction from AMA rule book page #4 my question is:

What "A" dimension do I use?

Same question for Fox stunt Speed using .016 by 60'.

Perky uses .15 engines and is thus an "A" event.  Dimension A is therefore 1".
Fox 35 Stunt is a class C event so dimension A is 1-1/4".

Dimension A is the length of lines wrapped by copper wire at the the termination.

These rules were made for all-out high performance planes that can go 200 MPH.  Perky & Fox only go half of that, so you're plenty safe enough.

This is the video I did on how to wrap solid or braided lines. I never have measured the "A" dimension on my lines
